New Beginnings Worship Team
We are glad to have you join us for worship and praise of our Lord! Our goal is to deliver a passionate and intimate time of worship that is edifying to the body of Christ. We want NBCC to be a place where people can experience a divine encounter with the Lord and have their hearts prepared to receive the teaching of the Word of God.
As we consider creating this atmosphere of praise as leaders within the church, there should be an understanding of commitment and responsibility. Becoming a part of the worship team is an agreement to commit to the following practices and principles listed below:
Commitment to follow Christ
I am a growing Christian and have placed my trust in Christ as my Lord and Savior.
As a part of the New Beginnings worship team, I commit to growing in my relationship with the Lord, and to encourage the growth of others (Romans 12:2).
I commit to the love of both God and neighbor through the pursuit of healthy relationships both on and off the stage (Matthew 22:36-40).
Commitment to live above reproach
I recognize that by stepping in to a position of leadership within the church, I am committing to living a lifestyle that seeks to mirror Godly character. The Bible teaches that we are to worship God in "the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 96:9), and to walk in light as God is light (1 John 1:5-7). As a growing Christian, and as a part of the worship team, I commit to the avoidance of harmful and immoral behaviors (Colossians 3:5-9). In turn, I commit to a holy lifestyle of worship that seeks to magnify the glory of Christ in my life (Colossians 3:12-25).
I understand that the things I say can affect those around me. This includes both what I verbally communicate in person, and what I choose to say online through various forms of social media including: Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, Email, and text message. As a part of living above reproach both in person and online, I commit to the avoidance of negative remarks toward my church and community through online platforms, with the understanding that social media is not an appropriate place for those conversations to occur. If there are issues with other members of my team or church, I commit to graciously approaching the person in love, or consulting a leader.
Commitment to responsibility
I commit to bring my best before God in worship, and to do my best to improve my abilities, both personally in my spiritual life, and as a part of the worship team.
I commit to making practice a priority, and to learn the songs to be played in service.
I commit to arriving on time to practice, and to attend consistently when scheduled.
I commit to dressing in a modest and respectful manner that brings glory to God, not myself.
Commitment to communication
I commit to the utilization of online communication through WorshipPlanning.com and email to let leaders know when I am available to participate.
I commit to letting leaders know when I am no longer able to participate in a worship service I had previously accepted.
Commitment to community
I recognize that the community of Christian believers is an essential part of my relationship with Christ. As a member of the worship team at New Beginnings, I commit to joining the other members in Community—and to be united through Christ—both on and off the stage (John 17:20-23).
